ESCA Pre-season meeting & SGM – 20th March ’19

The ESCA pre-season meeting will take place on Wednesday 20th March at Inverleith (Stewart’s Melville), starting at 7pm promptly.  The SGM agenda will be issued to clubs prior to the meeting, but the main purpose is to ratify any rules changes required for 2019 season.  It may also include constitutional changes depending on date of conclusion of the re-writing (though this may be left until the 2019 AGM in November).  Again this will be confirmed.

We will use the pre-season meeting to advise clubs of anything they need to be aware of and give the clubs an opportunity to raise any issues, concerns or discuss any ideas that may exist to improve cricket in the East.  Clubs will also have the opportunity to pick up their cricket ball supplies prior to the season. Please can all clubs ensure that balls are paid for in advance (see Peter Kingsbury’s previous emails).  We do not hold stock and therefore ask that all balls are picked up on the night.  If you cannot be there, please let Peter and me know as soon as possible.

We are also planning on having a speaker from the cricket mental health charity ‘Opening Up Cricket’ (www.openingupcricket.com/) to start the evening’s proceedings.  Mark Boyns will be aiming his approx 30 minute session on the role cricket and OUC play in promoting mental wellbeing.  It is aimed at players and therefore would encourage people to come along for this as much as the SGM.  We do have a limit on numbers, so please can you let me know if large numbers are expecting to come along so we can make arrangements.  Mark will also be around during/after the meeting to chat through any questions that you may have.
