ESCA Announce New Funding Opportunities for Women and Girls in Cricket

Since 2013, ESCA have provided ESCA associated clubs with the opportunity to claim grants for developing their youth cricket aspirations and projects.  A large number of teams have taken advantage of the scheme, with a little over £17,000 given to clubs.

Given the positive reception to the funding opportunities, and the growing success of women and girls cricket in the East of Scotland, ESCA wanted to provide similar funding opportunities.

As such, we are pleased to announce the ESCA Women and Girls’ Cricket Grant Scheme.  More details are available on the ESCA website: http://www.eastleague.org.uk/other-pages/womenandgirlsgrantfunding/ and the online form can be found here: https://forms.gle/eRsYRYYQd6MB1vCdA

The maximum grant is £1,000 per club, per season.  The funding could be used for coaching courses or equipment, but must be linked to the support and growth of Women and Girls’ cricket.

Full terms and conditions are at the bottom of the form.

We have also updated our webpage for Women and Girls’ Cricket (thanks to Annette) and it can be found here: http://www.eastleague.org.uk/other-pages/womensgirlscricket/

We have timed this announcement to coincide with ‘Scottish Women and Girls in Sport Week’, which starts on Monday 25th October ’21.  The theme of the Week is the role of sport and physical activity in supporting women’s health and wellbeing – with a focus on how through new activity, reconnecting or continuing with physical activity and sport, girls and women are creating healthy habits for life.

More about the week will be shared by Cricket Scotland and on social media.  You will be able to follow this by looking and using the hashtag #SheCanSheWill

We hope that the grant funding and social media presence will help raise some more awareness about the great things that are going on, not just for cricket in the East of Scotland, but further afield.

If there are any queries around this, or anyone wishes to provide further support to clubs or ESCA in relation to Women and Girls’ cricket, please contact Annette Aitken-Drummond or Neil Granger.
