Notice of ESCA Pre-Season Meeting & Special General Meeting – Tuesday 17th March

As noted previously, the ESCA Pre-Season Clubs Meeting and Special General Meeting will be held on Tuesday 17th March at Stewart’s Melville Pavilion at Ferry Road, Inverleith (EH5 2DW), at 7.00pm.  Please meet downstairs in Pavilion from 6.40pm.

The night will kick off with presentation of the individual awards from 2019 season for each division.  Gus Mackay and Tony Brian (Cricket Scotland) will then give an update on all things CS, including activities and plans, and to give the opportunity to the clubs to “raise any queries or issues they have with what CS is doing, or not doing”.  Neil Davidson (ESCOA) will give an update on umpiring, tweaks to the laws and items clubs need to be aware of for the season.  We will then deal with the SGM, largely focused on changes to the rules and constitution, and changes to teams in the league.  We will then conclude with any final messages for the season and take any questions.  Ball orders will be available to pick up on the night also for those clubs who have ordered and paid.

Proposed Rule Changes – we have proposed a number of ESCA Rule changes, mainly from lessons learned in 2019 season and some general tidying up of rules. Some modifications to the Championship will be made in line with the consultation with Championship clubs.  Papers summarising these changes will be available in the next fortnight.

When these are issued, it would be a real help if you do have any questions or concerns that you email these, ideally at least 10 days, in advance of the meeting. Clubs are, of course, completely free to raise questions, propose amendments, etc, on the night.

ESCA Contacts – as with last season, all Contacts information is input online.  We would ask that you ensure these are completed, in full, via CricketStats website –www.cricketstats.org.uk/esca – prior to start of season. Any questions please contact Peter Kingsbury on pekingp@homespunweb.co.uk.

We would be delighted to see all Clubs represented at the SGM/pre-season meeting. If your Club cannot attend please advise ESCA Secretary – Jim Brims (jamesbrims@aol.com) prior to the meeting.

Trust the above is clear, but if there are any questions, please let us know.
